Sport and Entertainment

Bol offers many attractions for those looking for entertainment. Below are some ideas for spending time actively in Bol.

Windsurfing / Kitesurfing

Bol’s location in the south of the island and the Maestral (15-25 knots Mistral) blowing smoothly from the north-west are ideal conditions for windsurfing, kitesurfing and sailing. There are several windsurfing schools in Bol where beginners can learn the sport from scratch. For the more experienced, the schools also offer equipment rental and own storage facilities. Our house is 50m from the sea and the nearest beach. It is very convenient for people who do not part with their equipment and take it to the water from where they start every day.

There are diving schools on the beaches of Borak and Potočine. They offer many courses for both beginner and experienced divers. In schools, you can also get certificates (Padi etc.) entitling you to independently dive and rent equipment not only in Croatia but also around the world.

In the town, near the Zlatni Rat beach, there are more than 26 tennis courts with a clay surface. The price of renting a court is about EUR 14 per hour. There is also a café and a tennis shop in the complex. Game schools are also organized. In the years 1991-2003, the WTA “Bol Ladies Open” tournament was held in the area every spring. Anna Kurnikova, Amelie Mauresmo, Arantxa Sanchez, Wenus Williams, Iva Majoli and many other famous tennis players played. After a long break, the ITF PRO tournament for young tennis players is being played in Bol in September.

There are roads and paths for cycling all over the island. Bol and the whole island offers many attractive routes for those who like a cycling adventure. We propose several interesting bicycle routes:

  • Bol – Zlatni rat – Murvica – Farska – Vidova gora – Bol
  • Sumartin – Selca – Novo Selo – Sumartin
  • Bol – Gornji Humac – Vidova Gora – Blaca – Bol

You can see the bicycle routes proposed by the island’s authorities here: bicycle map. Mountain bikes for adults and children can also be hired from the nearby sports centers.

For the little ones

Children will also find something for themselves, apart from playing in the sea and on the beach. In front of the Borak beach there is a small amusement park for children and teenagers (inflatable castles, bungee trampoline, spring trampoline and other similar attractions). There has been a large inflatable water park in the fenced water area on the Zlatni rat beach for two years.
